Over the Thanksgiving holiday I took a good, long look at my writing schedule for next year. Given that we’re already in December, I knew it was time to start planning out milestones and deadlines for my various projects. This would also allow me to see where I might fit some new, personal projects into the mix.
As it stands right now, I will definitely be writing:
- Watcher of the Ways, the third book in the Hunt Chronicles (just putting the finishing touches on it, really)
- Untitled #1, the second book in the Burke’s Marauder’s zombie/steampunk/World War I series I’m doing for HarperVoyager
Hopefully, I’ll also be writing two more books in the Rogue Angel series and possibly the second book in the Hellstalker series I’m writing with Jon Merz, provided that book one, Hellstalkers: The Cerberus Protocol, is well received. I’ve also got a super secret Young Adult project underway, but it hasn’t sold yet so there isn’t any specific timeline attached.
All of which means I’ve got a little bit of room in 2011 for another project.
Which brings me to the point of this post. I’ve been thinking about going back and revisiting some old friends, namely Knight Commander Cade Williams and the men of the Echo Team. I think another Templar Chronicles adventure would be just the thing to add to the mix. I’m not sure if I’ll pick up where I left off or possibly jump back in time to a point after the events in The Heretic but before those in A Scream of Angels. (I’m already doing a novella for Bad Moon Books that is set shortly after Cade has joined the Order and tells the tale of his first meeting with hedge witch Denise Clearwater, so I don’t want to go back too far.)
As it stands now though, I’m undecided.
So I’m asking for your help. Specifically, I’d like to hear your thoughts on the following:
1) Would you be interested in a new Templar Chronicles adventure?
2) If you had your choice, what kind of villian/threat/supernatural entity would you like to see the Echo Team face off against in the course of the story?
Let me know what you think in the comments section of this post!

Would I like to see a book four in the Templar Chronicles Trilogy??? YES! …and maybe a book 5, book 6… etc! Great series! How about a threat to the Pope?
I would love to read as many Templer Chronicles as you want to write. Since I just found the other two books on amazon I am content at the moment. I have been trying for a few years. I even checked your American publishers. They didn’t have your two other books. I was thinking I would have to learn German. The German people will be relieved that horror will not befall them.
I have read the first book 5 times so whatever you want to write about Cade and his merry knights is fine with me. Please don’t stop.
Thanks for reading.
I would like to see an pick up of book 3 from when Cade goes into his house. What Happened to his wife?? Good reading, could not put it down. But now just wondering what happens next?

Very much so.
2) If you had your choice, what kind of villian/threat/supernatural entity would you like to see the Echo Team face off against in the course of the story?
How about Lilith as a villian?
I just finishd the Templar Chrnicles and have to admit that I am hooked and look forward to another book in the series. To me the end left me really wanting to know what will happen next to Cade and where is his wife. Please continue and let me off the hook?
I just got a nook not long a go and was just searching for something to read and came across the Templar Chronicles. I read all 3 in about 4 days so not only should u wright another but please please please wright them fast. I read a lot of the top action adventure writers and you in my opinion are right there with them so what ever you do decide to write I am sure to read. Thanks for the entertainment.
Yes Please continue with the templar chronicles thay are excellent and very entertaining stories. As far from the direction I’d like to see you pick up where you left off, with me kinda hanging……
tks Brent
I would like to see the next one pick up where the last one left off. I was hoping for atleast an epilogue to give a glimpse of what happened when he went in the room to see what happened to his wife. Please pick up from there or atleast have it part of the prologue.
Yes i would like to see another book on Cade and co.Starting where you left off.
Okay, gang. Between the emails and the comments posted here I’ve made up my mind to do another Templar book this year. Story lines are already starting to gel together in the back of my head, particularly one involving a deal Cade made with a certain necromancer we all know and hate…
I also want to know what happened to Cade’s wife. I loved the first three books and was really hoping to find out what happened to her. I agree with Brent, the ending of A Tear in the Sky left me hanging and wanting more. Thank you for such awesome reads.
